They definitely have chemistry and I found myself engaged by both of them and many times when I'm reading a romance, the feeling is tepid or is just not there for both main characters. She doesn't think he's perfect but cares for him warts and all. She's older and more practical/mature th an many romance novel heroines - the perfect match for him. Sometimes his thoughts/actions made me laugh out loud such as what he thinks of the heroine's over the top hats and hairstyles or the amusing names he sometimes calls other characters in the book, including the heroine. He's sexy in his own way and though he is a somewhat tortured soul, it never becomes tiresome because the author fleshed out his character in a way that redeemed it from becoming trite/tiresome. I liked that the hero was not your typical "handsome, devilish rake". I have some 300+ books in my "library" and there is only 1 fiction book included and that book is not a romance but I'm definitely adding this book to read again - it's that good!
